Services
Axis Mundi designs and implements catchment-scale financing architecture that turns verified ecological improvement into a durable, self-reinforcing asset. Our work sits alongside existing grant and philanthropic channels rather than competing with them.
We offer six tightly defined services. Each is structured to protect measurement independence, intergenerational purpose, and the integrity of the underlying natural-capital accounts.
Catchment CAT Design & Constitution
Specialist architecture for establishing a Common Asset Trust ready for execution.
We design and draft:
• Trust deed with intergenerational and iwi co-governance provisions
• Corpus Standard setting process
• Contribution-share and spatial-flow attribution methodology
• Fiduciary-gap pricing function
• Stewardship Certificate term sheet and attached covenants
• Independent measurement protocol and operator tender design
This is institutional architecture work — comparable to specialist trust, infrastructure or structured-finance advice. It is the foundation that protects the system’s integrity.
Ideal for: Catchment groups, iwi, alliances and land trusts ready to move from concept to constitution.
First Issuance Delivery
Project management and technical support from constitution through first dual-attested Corpus Account and first Stewardship Certificate issuance.
Delivered as a fixed-fee or staged milestone engagement with clear gates:
• Trust execution and appointments
• First dual-attested Corpus Account
• Offer documents and Dual-Attest Gate ready
• First issuance complete
Success creates a live reference case that can be taken to the next catchment or bioregion.
Ideal for: Newly constituted trusts preparing their first issuance.
CAT Protocol Licence
Licence to use the nested hierarchy design, fiduciary-gap pricing methodology, contribution-share framework, Stewardship Certificate templates, and supporting playbooks.
Available as:
• Single-catchment licence
• Bioregional or multi-catchment licence
Also available as a CAT-in-a-Box package: model deeds, pricing functions, data specifications and governance playbooks, with Axis Mundi retaining ownership of the core intellectual property and supplying updates.
Licensing becomes available once a live reference case exists.
Ideal for: Trusts, iwi, councils and bioregional initiatives seeking to adopt a proven architecture without reinventing it.
CAT Governance Intensive
Short, high-value programmes for those who will govern or support Common Asset Trusts.
Designed for:
• Prospective CAT trustees
• Iwi and hapū governance bodies
• Council and regional authority staff
• Landowner groups preparing natural-capital accounts
Delivered as executive-education style intensives or modular cohort programmes. Builds practical capability and a community of practice.
Ideal for: Organisations preparing people for governance and stewardship roles in the architecture.
Measurement Architecture & Assurance
Design of the independent measurement stack and the contractual interface with the Trust — including MSO/MSV separation, Dual-Attest Gate and provenance rules.
We also provide periodic independent assurance reviews of the measurement system.
We design and assure. We do not become the ongoing measurement operator. This boundary is deliberate and non-negotiable.
Ideal for: Trusts and partners that need a robust, independent measurement architecture without conflicts of interest.
Issuance Structuring & Capital Introduction
Support in structuring Stewardship Certificate issuances and, where appropriate, introduction of patient capital.
Fees are transparent and fully disclosed. This service is kept secondary to design and constitution work so that incentives never favour weakening the Corpus Standard or stewardship rules.
Ideal for: Trusts that have already completed the architecture phase and are preparing to issue.
How we work
We prioritise fixed-fee and milestone-based engagements over open-ended time-and-materials contracts. Every engagement is scoped to protect the independence of measurement and the intergenerational purpose of the Trusts.
The highest-integrity work — architecture and constitution — sits at the centre of our practice. Everything else is designed to support and scale that core without compromising it.
Next step
If you are exploring a catchment-scale approach or preparing to constitute a Common Asset Trust, the natural starting point is a short diagnostic engagement. This tests fit, maps residual gaps, and produces a clear pathway recommendation before any larger commitment is required.
